Sowing rate is usually approximately, 25 - 50 grams per sq.metre with over sowing rate approximately 20 - 30 grams per sq.metre. A sowing depth of approximatelty 10-15mm is ideal whilst a good guide of thumb for mowing heights are now lower than 5mm.
For example;
A lawn measuring 20m x 50m (seed sowing rate 50g per m²:
(20 x 50 x 50) ÷ 1000 = 50kg
You would require 50kg of seed.
Germination takes between 7-10 days. The ideal soil temperature needs to be between 9-12 degrees Celsius.
The optimum time is either mid Spring or early Autumn. Ideally the soil should be warm and moist.
