Grass seed question & answer

Pick a grass seed that is suitable for your particular needs. Look at
the product description to check it meets your requirements. We sell
certified seed that has been tested under various conditions. This
ensures that you are purchasing a premium product.

Sowing rate is usually approximately, 25 - 50 grams per sq.metre with over sowing rate approximately 20 - 30 grams per sq.metre. A sowing depth of approximatelty 10-15mm is ideal whilst a good guide of thumb for mowing heights are now lower than 5mm.
For example;
A lawn measuring 20m x 50m (seed sowing rate 50g per m²:
(20 x 50 x 50) ÷ 1000 = 50kg

You would require 50kg of seed.

Germination takes between 7-10 days. The ideal soil temperature needs to be between 9-12 degrees Celsius.

The optimum time is either mid Spring or early Autumn. Ideally the soil should be warm and moist.
